Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion of Ram Navami.

In a post on X, the LG’s office wrote: “Greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami. I pray that Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram showers his divine blessings upon us in the years ahead. May this auspicious Ram Navami fill every home with enduring peace, boundless joy and abundant prosperity.”

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also conveyed his heartfelt greetings, describing Shri Ram as the embodiment of righteousness, virtue and exemplary conduct. Omar urged people to follow Lord Ram’s example of wisdom, righteousness and selfless service.

He said the occasion was not merely a religious celebration but an opportunity to reaffirm our shared commitment to the service of humanity with sincerity and dedication. He prayed for peace, prosperity and well-being for all in Jammu and Kashmir.

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary said the festival of Ram Navami holds immense religious and cultural significance and is celebrated with great fervour and devotion across Jammu and Kashmir.

Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, and Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Transport, Youth Services and Sports, IT and Science and Technology, Satish Sharma, also extended warm wishes to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Both ministers highlighted Lord Rama’s teachings, which transcend religious boundaries and remain relevant today. They emphasised ideals such as selfless service, tolerance, respect, virtue and ideal leadership.

They noted that Jammu and Kashmir is a true reflection of India’s unity in diversity, where different faiths have coexisted for centuries despite occasional incidents of violence instigated by outside actors.
