Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday handed over appointment letters to the next of kin of 50 terror victims under the compassionate appointment scheme, describing the initiative as a step aimed at helping affected families rebuild their lives.

The appointment letters were distributed during a function at the Lok Bhavan Auditorium in Srinagar.Addressing the gathering, Sinha said the administration was committed to extending support to families who lost their loved ones in incidents of militancy and had been waiting for assistance for years. Providing government jobs to their family members, he said, would help them regain stability and move forward.

Calling the initiative a gesture of support for victims’ families, the Lieutenant Governor said employment opportunities would offer a new beginning to many households that had suffered due to terrorism. Extending Eid greetings to the families present at the event, Sinha said the appointment letters should be seen as a message of justice and recognition for those who had endured loss.

Officials said more than 400 families of terror victims have so far been provided government jobs under the scheme. The process of identifying eligible beneficiaries is continuing, with officials coordinating between the police and civil administration to process remaining cases.

On this occasion LG vowed to secure justice for everyone who has been wronged by terrorists, while handing over appointment letters to 27 next-of-kin of terror victims here.“I am resolute in securing justice for every terror victim’s family, and pending cases will be investigated to hold the perpetrators accountable,” Sinha said.

Sinha reaffirmed that lands or homes forcibly seized from terror-affected families will be liberated and returned, and cases yet to undergo investigation will receive impartial and transparent probes. The administration has succeeded in dispelling the shadow of injustice and ushering in a new dawn of justice at the doorsteps of terror victims’ families, he said.“To date, around 400 next-of-kins have received employment, and we will continue relentlessly until we reach the very last family awaiting justice,” he said.

Pertinently, the Jammu and Kashmir administration, under Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, is actively providing government jobs to the Next of Kin (NoK) of terror victims under Compassionate Appointment Rules (SRO-43) and the Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme (RAS). These initiatives aim to support affected families, with numerous appointment letters handed over in both Kashmir and Jammu divisions.

Sinha said that for decades, the poor and vulnerable families of the terror victims had clung to the hope of redress.

The campaign, which was launched from Baramulla last year, to deliver justice to terror victims’ families, has provided them with support, courage, and restored their tomorrow, the LG said.“My aim throughout this process is to ensure that no terror-affected family slips into the cracks of neglect, fading from public and official gaze. I view these appointment letters as true justice, and today’s event stands as its living testament,” he said.
