Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday paid tribute to the brave martyrs of the 2019 Pulwama fidayeen attack.
In a post on X, LG Sinha wrote, “Heartfelt tribute to the courageous martyrs of the heinous Pulwama attack of 2019. Their supreme sacrifice in the service of the motherland will forever be remembered. The courage & selfless commitment of our gallant heroes will continue to inspire generations.”
The Pulwama attack remains a pivotal moment in India-Pakistan relations, as the retaliatory actions taken by both nations further strained their bilateral ties.

On February 14, 2019, a 22-year-old suicide bomber targeted a CRPF convoy, killing 40 personnel. The convoy, comprising 2,500 troops and 78 vehicles, was en route from Jammu to Srinagar on National Highway 44.
As the convoy reached Lethpora, Pulwama, a car laden with approximately 300 kilograms of explosives rammed into a bus, triggering a devastating explosion. The impact was so intense that shockwaves were felt several kilometres away.
The attacker was identified as Adil Ahmed Dar, a local militant from Kakapora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. He was affiliated with the Pakistan-based militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad.
Following the attack, Indian forces conducted airstrikes in Balakot, Pakistan, targeting terror camps operating within Pakistani territory.
