Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday visited the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra and paid obeisance, praying for peace, prosperity, happiness, and the well-being of all.

In a post on X, LG Sinha wrote, “Paid obeisance at the revered Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine on the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Navratri. Prayed for peace, prosperity, happiness and well-being of one and all.” The Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, situated in the Trikuta hills near Katra, is one of the holiest pilgrimage sites for Hindus.

Each year, hundreds of thousands of devotees, including prominent politicians, business leaders, film stars, and sportspersons, visit to seek the blessings of the goddess.

Earlier this month, Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia visited the shrine and paid obeisance, thanking the goddess for giving him strength during what he described as a challenging period. He had been released from jail several months after his detention by the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with the Delhi excise policy case.

Additionally, star Indian batter Abhishek Sharma, a key member of India’s victorious 2026 T20 World Cup squad, recently visited and paid his respects at the shrine. He arrived just days after India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat, securing a historic title defence and their third T20 World Cup triumph.
