Eight coaches of the Mumbai-bound Lokmanya Tilak Express derailed at Dibalong station in Assam on Thursday afternoon.
The train had departed from Agartala earlier today morning, according to a spokesperson for the Railways.
"Eight coaches, including the power car and engine, got derailed. However, no casualty or major injuries have been reported," said the CPRO of the Northeast Frontier Railway zone.
The accident occurred in the Lumding-Badarpur Hill section. Relief and medical trains have been dispatched to the site, while senior officials oversee the rescue and restoration efforts.
Train services over the single line section have been suspended. Helpline numbers have been issued at Lumding for inquiries.
