A horrific incident shook the City of Joy, after reports of 32-year-old man being stabbed to death by his live-in partner in Kolkata surfaced. Sarthak Das was in a live-in relationship with Sanhati Paul, who is a make-up artist by profession. They lived in a apartment in Dumdum area.
Both Paul and Das were in their 30s and, reportedly, facing relationship issues from a past few days which forced Paul to stab her partner to death.
Das, who was a photographer, got into a relationship with Das, who was divorced and had a son. Just hours before his death, he had shared a photo of him with the woman and her son, with the caption, ‘family’.
Das’s social media account had several pictures of him and Paul, and with Paul’s son. His relationship status was also changed to ‘engaged’.
Paul, who had committed the crime called the police to inform about the incident. On receiving the call, a police team reached Paul’s apartment and found Das lying in a pool of blood with several marks on his body.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Paul has confessed to the crime during interrogation, police said. They are yet to find what provoked Paul to stab Das, albeit she has been arrested on murder charges.
