Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will on Saturday flag off the first batch of BrahMos supersonic missiles manufactured at the BrahMos Aerospace unit in Lucknow’s Sarojini Nagar, marking a landmark achievement for India’s defence production capabilities.
According to an official statement, the event is expected to be a milestone for the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC) and reinforce India’s commitment to achieving self-reliance in defence technology.
BrahMos Aerospace has successfully produced its first batch of missiles from the new Integration and Test Facility in Lucknow, which became fully operational after its inauguration on May 11, 2025. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure for missile integration, testing, and final quality verification. Once cleared, the missiles are prepared for deployment with the Indian Armed Forces.
During the ceremony, the defence minister and chief minister will inaugurate the Booster Building and witness a demonstration of the booster docking process. Presentations are also planned on airframe and avionics systems, Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI) in the Warhead Building, and the BrahMos simulator.

The programme will include tree plantation, a storage trolley demonstration, a GST Bill presentation, and a display of the Mobile Autonomous Launcher. The manufacturing of BrahMos missiles in Lucknow is expected to generate sustained GST revenue for Uttar Pradesh while creating skilled employment opportunities for the youth.
The assembly, integration, and testing processes at the Lucknow unit adhere to stringent technical standards. With the departure of the first consignment, the facility strengthens India’s “Make in India, Make for the World” initiative.
This facility is the first in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor to complete the entire missile production cycle indigenously, from manufacturing to final testing, underlining the state’s emerging role in India’s strategic defence manufacturing landscape.
