These were the Codes used for jailed Jharkhand Minister Alamgir Alam’s commission share, says the Enforcement directorate.
A series of events occurred with Rs 35 Crore cash recovery, arrest of a Minister’s Personal Secretary (A Jharkhand Administrative Service Officer) and his house help and finally the arrest of Rural Development Minister cum Congress Legislature Party leader of Jharkhand Alamgir Alam.
The Enforcement Directorate today came up with some crucial revelations in its Application for Judicial Custody of the Minister’s PS Sanjeev Kumar Lal and his house help Jahangir Alam, from whose premises it had recovered a mountain of cash during the recent raids.
The application submitted to the Special PMLA court of Ranchi on Tuesday the ED has stated that it is ascertained that the cash found and seized from the Flat in the name of Jahangir Alam was collected by Jahangir Alam at the instruction of Sanjeev Kumar Lal who in turn was doing so on behalf of Alamgir Alam.
It further said that several official documents on the official letterheads and official letters were found with huge cash from the premise of Jahangir Alam, which would have been kept under the possession of Sanjeev Lal, as PS to RDD minister Alamgir Alam, which establishes that Sanjeev Kumar Lal was using this premise for keeping documents/ records, cash and other belongings related to Minister Alamgir Alam.
The ED stated that during investigation it is revealed that record of such collection were being maintained by Sanjeev Kumar Lal and also by the other Officers of Rural Development Department. It is revealed that code letter word "M" (Minister), Sahab and "H" (Honourable Minister) were being used by them which refers to the Minister Alamgir Alam, for keeping records of such commission.
A few such sample of the records maintained by said persons were given as evidence in the application of the ED to the court.
ED also said that the role of Alamgir Alam is found to be crucial and pivotal in the ongoing investigation based upon the statement of witnesses and material collected and in possession of the Directorate of Enforcement.
The proceeds of crime are collected and distributed in an organized manner and the share of the persons involved in the process is fixed for the kind of work they are involved in.
The agency has said that corroborative evidence and instances have been found to ascertain the role of Minister Alamgir Alam in the money laundering case relating to tender allocation.
