The Shiv Sena (UBT) won the Mumbai Graduates and Mumbai Teachers constituencies, while the BJP secured the Konkan Graduates seat in the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections, the results of which were announced on Monday.
Elections for the Mumbai Graduates, Konkan Graduates, Mumbai Teachers, and Nashik Teachers constituencies took place on June 26, with 143,297 voters casting their ballots, of which 132,071 votes were deemed valid.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anil Parab won the Mumbai Graduates constituency by defeating the BJP's Kiran Shelar. Parab received 44,784 votes, while Shelar secured 18,772 votes. Out of the total votes cast, 64,222 were considered valid, and the quota for victory was 32,112 votes. Parab was declared elected after receiving 44,784 first-preference votes.
In the Konkan Graduates constituency, BJP candidate Niranjan Davkhare defeated Ramesh Keer of the Congress, securing 100,719 votes against Keer's 28,585.
Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate J.M. Abhyankar won the Mumbai Teachers seat, receiving 4,083 of the 11,598 valid votes.
