A video of a young man allegedly spray-painting the face of Prime Minister Narendra Modi black on a mounted poster went viral on Thursday evening.
The poster carried photographs of Modi and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for the Gita Jayanti Mahotsav and was installed on a foot overbridge near Barsat Road on National Highway-44 in Panipat district.
The video was also shared on the social media page of the Indian Youth Congress.
Reacting to the incident, BJP district president Dushyant Bhatt said he had seen the video and called the act an example of the Congress’s narrow mindset. He alleged that the Congress was upset over repeated election losses, and this frustration was showing in such actions.
Bhatt said legal action would be taken after reviewing all legal aspects.
