A 31-year-old man was found dead in a car near ISBT Tutikandi on Thursday evening, raising fresh concerns over the growing Chitta (synthetic drug) menace in Himachal Pradesh.
Residents found the man sitting lifeless in the driver's seat of a parked car and immediately alerted the police.
The deceased has been identified as Nishant, a resident of Nabha, Shimla. According to police, the car had a Shimla registration number. Early investigation suggests that the cause of death could be a drug overdose, but the exact reason will only be known after the post-mortem.
According to sources, Nishant was reportedly struggling with addiction. He had even spent time in a de-addiction centre in the past. The authorities took has sent the body for further examination. The police have initiated probe in the case.
