A man allegedly jumped into the Agra Canal near Deeg Fatehpur Billoch village along with his two sons, police said on Monday, adding that efforts were underway to recover their bodies.
The incident took place on Sunday night and came to light after police found the man’s motorcycle parked on the canal embankment. Upon receiving the information, police teams along with the fire brigade rushed to the spot and launched a search operation.

According to police sources, the man had been facing ongoing disputes with his wife, which reportedly caused him considerable distress. However, family members have not shared further details about the matter.
A senior police officer said information was received from the control room at around 11 pm on Sunday that a man had jumped into the canal with his two children. Police personnel reached the location soon after, and alerted the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and fire brigade teams to assist in the search.
“The man’s bike was found parked on a bridge over the Agra Canal. He is believed to be a resident of Asavati village in Palwal, and the vehicle also carries a registration number from Palwal. The search operation is ongoing and further investigation is in progress,” the officer said.
