Man posing as MLA’s PSO held with weapon in Solan.

Three people, including a man pretending to be a Personal Security Officer (PSO) of a Haryana MLA were arrested by the police near the Solan bypass. The arrest came after the traffic police on suspicion stopped a vehicle and found several serious violations, including an illegal weapon and a fake registration number.

The police said a white Scorpio with a Haryana number plate was coming from Parwanoo and honking continuously. The vehicle was stopped near the double wall area on the Solan bypass. Inside, officers found a man wearing a Haryana Police uniform, along with a woman and the driver.

When the police personnel on duty questioned him, the man in uniform said he was the PSO of a Haryana MLA and claimed that the car belonged to the legislator. However, he couldn’t show any ID to support his claim. A quick check using the police app showed that the vehicle number was actually registered to a Toyota Crysta, not the Scorpio he was driving—raising further suspicion.

During the search, the police found a pistol and two cartridges in his possession. He was unable to provide any valid documents for the weapon or any proof that he was officially working as a PSO.

Confirming the incident, ASP Solan, Rajkumar said, “We have seized the car and recovered the weapon. A case has been registered against all three individuals, and a thorough investigation is underway. The vehicle number was found to be fake, and the person in uniform has not been able to produce any identity proof.”

All three individuals are currently being questioned by the police. Officials suspect a larger network may be involved in the impersonation and use of fake vehicle documents, and a thorough investigation is underway.
