Amid ongoing tensions in Manipur, central security forces, along with the Manipur police, conducted search operations in vulnerable areas of the hills and valley districts. An official statement confirmed on Friday that the situation is under control.
During the operations, security forces recovered various arms and ammunition from Sekmaijin Hangool Mayal Leikai, under Hiyanglam Police Station in Kakching district.
The recovered items included a 7.62 SLR rifle (without a magazine), a single barrel breech loading (SBBL) gun, a country-made 9mm pistol with ammunition, a .32 country-made pistol, three hand grenades, two arming rings without detonators, a tube launcher, and live ammunition and empty AK rifle cases.

In addition, bulletproof vests, helmets, boots, a Kenwood wireless set, and other equipment were seized. The recovery also included live 9mm ammunition, 12 Bore cartridges, fired AK rifle cases, stun shells, tear gas grenades, tactical gear, a solar-powered torch, and rice and plastic bags.

Security forces also ensured the safe movement of essential goods along national highways by implementing strict measures at sensitive locations.
Convoys were deployed to facilitate vehicle movement, and 107 checkpoints were set up across the state. No one was detained for violations during the operation.
Authorities urged the public to stay alert and avoid rumors. They also called on those with looted arms, ammunition, or explosives to return them to the police or nearest security forces immediately.
