Punjab CM Mann stated that these investments are already bearing fruit, as he mentioned that Punjab has managed to take the number one spot in the National Achievement Survey, even surpassing Kerala.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann flagged off the eighth batch of government school principals on Saturday, as thirty educators departed for a specialised training programme at the Principal Academy in Singapore. This latest group brings the total number of teachers and education officers sent abroad for international exposure to 234, a move designed to overhaul the state’s public education framework by adopting global pedagogical standards.

During an interaction in Chandigarh, the Chief Minister emphasised that the initiative is less about infrastructure and more about the qualitative empowerment of students. By acquainting school heads with modern, international teaching practices between March 8 and 14, the government expects these educators to return as "agents of change." These principals are then expected to share their discoveries with their peers and students as well, with the aim of making the local curriculum as competitive as possible on a global level.

The selection process for the programme remains as merit-based as ever, with rigorous verification conducted by the district education officers.

Mann stated that these investments are already bearing fruit, as he mentioned that Punjab has managed to take the number one spot in the National Achievement Survey, even surpassing Kerala.

Beyond primary instruction, the state has shifted focus toward competitive excellence. Special coaching for entrance exams like JEE, NEET, and CLAT has enabled about 300 students from the "Schools of Eminence" and other government schools to qualify for top technical and medical institutions. This general policy seeks to bridge the gap between the quality of education in the countryside and the opportunities for elite professional education, creating an ecosystem where every child from Punjab can aspire to achieve international success.
