Former Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president Nitin Nabin for appointing him as a National Vice-President of the party.
Badal expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and said he accepts the new responsibility with humility. He said he was also thankful to the Punjab BJP leadership for its continued support.
Calling the new position a responsibility rather than a reward, Badal said he sees it as a test and hopes to serve the party successfully.
BJP president Nitin Nabin described the newly announced office-bearers as “the team for India’s future.” He said the team would take the Prime Minister’s vision to the grassroots, strengthen links with party workers and engage with the public.
The announcement came nearly six months after Nitin Nabin took charge as BJP president.
