The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday searched the rented house of a key suspect in Rohtak. The search was carried out in connection with a case involving efforts by the CPI (Maoist) to revive its influence in the Northern Region Bureau.
“The search at the house of Naresh led to the seizure of two mobile phones and some handwritten documents. The NIA investigations had identified Naresh as a former member of a student organisation and a close aide of accused Priyanshu Kashyap in the case RC-01/2023/NIA/LKW. As part of the CPI (Maoist) conspiracy, Kashyap used to frequently visit the said premises, where he conducted meetings with the organisation’s underground cadres,” the spokesman said.
He added that probe in the case is still going on.
According to sources, Naresh runs a physiotherapy centre in the city. An NIA team also visited the centre to gather information, with local police accompanying them during the visit.
