New facts and figures are coming up relating to the 8.5 acres of prime land that is alleged to have been acquired by former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in Ranchi.
State BJP president and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi on Tuesday came up with a ‘video proof’ to show that the land belonged to Soren.
The senior BJP leader showed the media a video of Santosh Munda, the watchman of the 8.5-acre land located in the Bariatu area. In the video, Munda is saying that the land he was guarding and where he has been living for the past 17 years belongs to Hemant Soren.
Marandi said that Hemant Soren adopted the method of investing money in land to hide his black money. Soren purchased 8.5 acres of land surrounded by stone walls in Bariatu in someone else's name.
He said that Hemant Soren is currently in the custody of ED but while speaking on the confidence motion of Champai government, he was speaking as if he had not done anything wrong. While challenging Marandi, he was even talking about retiring from politics. He said that no thief accepts being caught after stealing.
Marandi said that the Soren family has a habit of creating chaos. The past of his family is the same as the present. He said that due to this, this case is being investigated under money laundering, otherwise, if it had been investigated by name, it would have been investigated under the sections of acquiring disproportionate assets.
“On 16 August 2023, a person named Rajkumar Pahan applied that the mentioned land is under him and the name of another authorized person should be rejected from this land. On the same day, the letter reaches the regional officer. On 9 January 2024, a SAR officer sent CI and asked for a report from CI and on January 11, 2024, it was revealed from the CI report that Santosh Pahan has been living there with his family for five years, the title of the land is registered in the name of Pahan family, the land’s nature is such that it cannot be sold," said Marandi.
He said that it is an example of land loot by the Soren family. The Shibu Soren family has bought land even after changing the name. Hemant Soren became Hemant Kumar Soren, and Shibu Soren became Shiv Soren. Durga Soren became Durga Prasad Soren and so on.
