The national capital has witnessed fresh case of crime against women, with an 18-year-old MBBS student becoming target this time who was allegedly raped by a 20-year-old man in a hotel in Delhi. A case has been registered by the police at Adarsh Nagar Police Station.
The MBBS student has accused two of her friends of drugging, raping, sexually assaulting, and blackmailing her repeatedly for almost a month in the Adarsh Nagar area of northwest Delhi.The accused allegedly coerced the victim by threatening to share videos recorded during the assaults. Police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and are actively searching for the suspects, who remain absconding. This case shines a light on the persistent threat to women’s safety and the critical need for stronger protections and support systems.
According to Delhi Police, a complaint was received at the concerned Police Station from an 18-year-old MBBS student, who is a resident of a town in Haryana and is pursuing her studies in the national capital. She alleged that the accused, who is a resident of Jind in Haryana, invited her to a hotel in Adarsh Nagar on the pretext of a party, administered intoxicants, and wrongfully confined her and committed sexual assault. The complainant said that the accused was accompanied by his associates.
The complaint said the accused forcibly made obscene photos and videos and blackmailed the victim by threatening to make them viral.The complaint also said that the accused compelled her to accompany him multiple times and committed repeated acts of sexual assault, intimidation, and harassment.A case has been filed under various sections of Bharatiya Nyay Samhita.
According to the police, the accused spiked her drink, leading to her incapacitation. She was then raped by the 20-year-old main accused while two of his friends recorded the crime on their phones. The victim also alleged that the other two men sexually assaulted her. After the initial assault, the perpetrators used the videos to blackmail her, forcing her into repeated sexual acts throughout September under threats of public exposure via social media platforms.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Bhisham Singh confirmed that the case has been registered at the Adarsh Nagar police station under sections dealing with rape, sexual assault, and criminal intimidation, particularly addressing the blackmail element. Multiple police teams are actively searching for the accused, who have been absconding since the complaint was filed on October 2, supported by the victim’s family. The authorities assured thorough investigation and swift legal action.
