Meta has announced a two-year partnership with the Telangana government to advance e-governance and citizen services using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The collaboration aims to empower public officials and citizens by deploying the latest emerging technologies, including Meta's open-source Generative AI models such as the Llama 3.1.
Shivnath Thukral, Vice President and Head of Public Policy at Meta India, emphasised the company’s commitment to harnessing AI for global good.
"By sharing openly available AI models, we are driving innovation and democratising access. This aligns with our dedication to enhancing government services, transparency, and citizen engagement in Telangana," said Thukral.
The partnership is designed to leverage digital technologies to create a more efficient and accountable governance model, offering new ways for citizens and governments to interact.
The initiative reflects Meta's open approach to AI development and Telangana's efforts in digital innovation, aiming to address local needs and drive social and economic opportunities.
