A migrant worker identified as Siraj from Madhya Pradesh is reportedly in critical condition after a brutal sickle attack by four minors in Tamil Nadu’s Thiruvallur district. The assault has sparked massive public outcry. The attackers themselves filmed the violence and shared the footage on social media.
In a particularly chilling detail from the viral videos, one of the minors can be seen flashing a victory sign directly at the camera after the victim had been severely wounded.
The trouble reportedly began on a moving train, where the group cornered Siraj and began intimidating him with swords and sickles. Even during the journey, the minors were seen recording the intimidation on their phones. The case went from bad to worse as the group proceeded to move Siraj to a secluded area near a railway station and proceed to brutalise the victim in the process of their video recording.
Siraj has been rushed to the nearby hospital and is in intensive care for his life-threatening injuries. The video shot by bystanders is still going viral, and the local police have taken cognisance of this video footage and initiated a full-scale investigation into this case. The authorities are busy tracing all the minors involved in this case and are trying to analyse the circumstances that resulted in this blatant act of violence against the migrant worker.
