A bomb threat was issued on Sunday night targeting the residences of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and actors Ajith Kumar, Aravind Swamy, and Khushbu. The threatening email was sent to the office of the Director General of Police (DGP), prompting immediate security checks at all four locations.
This incident follows a similar alleged bomb threat received at Ajith Kumar's residence in Injambakkam, Chennai, just last week from an unknown person. Officers conducted a thorough search of the premises and surrounding area; no explosives were found during the inspection, and authorities did not disclose details about the sender of that threat. Police officials had responded swiftly to that earlier incident, deploying a bomb squad to the actor’s house along East Coast Road (ECR). The search lasted a few hours before investigators confirmed it was a hoax.
The case involving Ajith Kumar came shortly after a similar bomb threat was made against actor Arun Vijay. The DGP office had recently received an email from an unidentified individual claiming a bomb had been planted at Arun Vijay’s residence in Ekkattuthangal. Police and bomb disposal experts searched the property but found no explosive materials.
In October, composer Ilaiyaraaja’s T Nagar studio was also targeted by a hoax bomb alert, adding to a growing list of high-profile individuals affected by such incidents.
