In a tragic incident in Tripura’s Gomati district, a school teacher Abhijeet Dey accused of molesting a minor girl, died following a brutal mob assault.
The incident unfolded in Udaipur town on Thursday, where the teacher allegedly molested the student during a private tuition session.
Enraged local residents soon took matters into their own hands, delivering a severe beating to the government school teacher.
Following the assault, police registered an FIR but have yet to make any arrests. Assistant Inspector General of Police (Law & Order) Ananta Das stated that the teacher was brought to RK Pur police station on the night of August 8, accompanied by his wife.
A molestation case was lodged against him, and on the advice of a doctor, he spent the night at a local health centre.

The police have launched an investigation into the case.
Local MLA and state finance minister Pranajit Singha Roy condemned the mob attack, emphasising that taking the law into one’s own hands is unacceptable and promised legal action against those responsible.
