In a surprising event occurred at Bihar's Samastipur Railway Station when a fight between two monkeys caused a brief disruption in train services, leaving passengers both shocked and entertained.
The incident took place near the eastern foot overbridge on the Barauni line. The monkeys were fighting over a banana when one of them dropped a piece of rubber onto the overhead wires. This caused a short circuit, with sparks flying from the wires.
Upon receiving the information, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) quickly alerted the control room. To prevent further damage or danger, the electrical supply to the overhead wires was cut off, temporarily halting train operations.
The Overhead Equipment (OHE) department quickly arrived and repaired the damaged wires. Train services resumed around 9:30 am after the electrical flow was restored. The disruption affected train lines 4 through 14 for about 30 minutes.
RPF Inspector Ved Prakash Verma, along with his team, managed the situation, keeping passengers safe and away from the affected area. Inspector Verma later confirmed that the monkeys' fight was the cause of the disruption, but the situation was quickly resolved, and normal operations resumed.
