There is good news for tourists planning to visit Himachal Pradesh from mid-July to mid-September this year. The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has announced discounted room rates at its hotels across the state, barring few.
According to HPTDC Managing Director Dr. Rajeev Kumar, the Monsoon Discount will be applicable from July 15 to September 12, aimed at boosting occupancy during the off season. However, certain properties will not offer discounts. These include Hotel Kinner Kailash in Kalpa (Kinnaur), Hotel Spiti in Kaza (Lahaul & Spiti), Hotel Iravati in Chamba, Hotel Chanderbhaga in Keylong (Lahaul & Spiti), Hotel Hamir in Hamirpur, Hotel Saket in Sundernagar (Mandi), and Hotel Willy’s Park in Shimla.
The highest discount of 40 per cent will be available at select properties including Palace Hotel in Chail and its Annexe, The Golf Glade, Naldehra, Hotel Hatu in Narkanda, Hotel Geetanjali in Dalhousie, Hotel Apple Blossom in Fagu, Hotel Manimahesh in Dalhousie.
No discount will be available at Hotel Gaurikund in Bharmour from August 11 to September 2 due to the Manimahesh Yatra.
At Hotel Naggar Castle, Silver Moon (Kullu), Rohtang Manalsu, and Hadimba Cottage (Manali), discounts will be available only until these properties close for renovation.
Most HPTDC hotel units, including Hotel Holiday Home in Shimla and Hotel Ros Common in Kasauli, will offer a 30 per cent discount.
“All efforts should be made to market the units of HPTDC and to ensure that maximum tourists avail the HPTDC accommodation in this period,” said MD, HPTDC, Dr Rajeev Kumar. The HPTDC has 56 hotel units in the state.
