Monsoon to remain active in Rajasthan this week: Met

Heavy rain continued across parts of Rajasthan with significant downpours recorded in Udaipur, Dungarpur, and Banswara, and the monsoon is expected to remain active throughout the week.

Light to moderate showers were also recorded in Ganganagar, Sirohi, Sikar, Rajsamand, Jalore, Jhalawar, and Nagaur, the Met Centre said.


Rain continued to batter parts of Rajasthan, with the local Meteorological Centre predicting that the monsoon will stay active throughout the week.

 

In the 24 hours leading up to 8.30am on Tuesday, heavy rainfall was recorded in several locations, including Udaipur, Dungarpur, and Banswara districts. 

 

Bhungra in Banswara received the highest rainfall at 115mm, followed by Sajangarh with 101mm, Kesarpura with 70mm, Dewal with 101mm, Ganeshpur with 74mm, and Rishabhdev with 102mm.

 

 Rainfall was also reported in parts of western and eastern Rajasthan.

 

Light to moderate showers were observed in Ganganagar, Sirohi, Sikar, Rajsamand, Jalore, Jhalawar, and Nagaur. 

 

The Meteorological Centre has indicated that rainfall is expected to persist across many areas of the state for the coming days.
