Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday announced the commencement of registrations for the state government’s ambitious Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna. Under this scheme, women from the general category will receive a monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000, while women belonging to Scheduled Castes will be provided ₹1,500 per month.
The Chief Minister made the announcement while addressing a gathering at a state-level event organised to mark Ambedkar Jayanti. He informed that the state government had already issued a formal notification earlier this month to roll out the scheme.
Mann stated that the registration drive has been launched simultaneously in several locations, including Adampur, Malout, Anandpur Sahib, Dirba, Sunam, Kotkapura, Moga, Batala and Patiala Rural. He added that eligible women can complete their registration at designated centres such as Anganwadi centres, Sewa Kendras, municipal corporation offices, and municipal committee offices across the state.
Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia also shared details about the implementation timeline. He said once registrations are completed across Punjab within the next one to two months, beneficiaries are expected to start receiving the financial assistance directly in their bank accounts from July onwards.

According to the eligibility criteria, women aged 18 years or above who are registered voters in Punjab and possess a valid Aadhaar card reflecting Punjab residency, along with a valid Voter ID issued by the Election Commission of India, will be eligible to avail benefits under the scheme.
However, certain categories have been excluded from the ambit of the scheme. These include women who are regular or retired employees of the Punjab government, Central Government, or any other state or Union Territory government. Additionally, elected representatives such as MLAs and MPs, as well as spouses of serving ministers, MPs, or MLAs, will not be eligible.
Notably, the provision of monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000 to women was a key poll promise made by the ruling party ahead of the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections. With the launch of this scheme, the government aims to provide financial support and empowerment to women across the state.
