Two bike-borne persons shot dead an accused in the Gurlal Brar murder case outside the Mohali district court complex on Wednesday afternoon.
Gurvinder Singh, a resident of Rurki Kham, had come to court with his wife for a hearing in an NDPS case. Eyewitnesses said that as he exited the court, one of the assailants shook hands with him before shooting him from point-blank range in the face and head. The two sped away on motorcycle immediately after attacking Gurvinder. Seventeen empty shells were recovered from the spot.
Gurlal Brar, a former president of the Student Organisation of Panjab University (SOPU) and cousin of Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, was shot dead on October 10, 2020 outside the City Emporium Mall in Chandigarh.
