A 22-year-old woman from Nagaland was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her rented residence in Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, on Wednesday night, according to the Police.
The deceased, identified as Linsula, was a resident of Kiphire district in Nagaland and had been working at a local resort. Her body was discovered at her home in the Aravindnagar area, where she was reportedly found hanging.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Linsula had spoken for nearly 30 minutes to an individual identified as Kivishe Kinimi shortly before the incident. Police also recovered a diary from her room, which has become a key piece of evidence in the case.
According to officials, the diary contains references to two individuals—Rajesh and Tejas—whom Linsula accused of subjecting her to physical and mental harassment under the pretext of a relationship. She also reportedly wrote about the stress of family responsibilities, including caring for her parents, and fears of losing her job and financial stability.
The diary has been taken into custody for further examination, and her family in Nagaland has been informed.
Meanwhile, Lashila Inchugar, an associate of the victim, has filed a complaint at the Basavanahalli police station, alleging that the two individuals named in the diary had been harassing Linsula. She has called for a thorough investigation and immediate legal action.
Police have registered a case and stated that an investigation is currently underway to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
