A 10-year-old girl from Nagpur sustained critical injuries after falling nearly 30 feet into a gorge when a zipline cable snapped mid-air during an adventure activity in Manali, Himachal Pradesh.
The incident occurred on June 8 while the girl, Trisha Bijwe, was enjoying a family vacation in the popular hill station. According to her parents, Prafulla Bijwe and his wife, the accident took place at a zipline facility that allegedly lacked basic safety measures.
Trisha was initially provided medical assistance in Manali before being transferred to a hospital in Chandigarh. She is currently undergoing treatment at a private medical facility in Nagpur, where her condition remains critical. The child suffered multiple fractures in her leg due to the fall, her family confirmed.
A video of the incident, reportedly recorded by a family member, shows the moment the harness gave way mid-air, sending Trisha plummeting into the gorge. The family has accused the zipline operators of gross negligence and has demanded strict action, calling for stronger safety regulations at adventure tourism spots.
The shocking incident has sparked renewed concerns over safety standards at such facilities, which are frequented by tourists, particularly during the peak summer season.
