Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday requested cooperation from AI Singapore to establish Artificial Intelligence research and innovation centres in the state. As part of an initiative to nurture the southern state as a budding AI hub, the chief minister met professor Mohan Kankanahalli, deputy executive chairman, AI Singapore.
"Naidu, who is devoted to making Andhra Pradesh a rising Artificial Intelligence centre, pursued focused efforts in his third day in Singapore. On Tuesday, he called upon Prof. Mohan Kankanahalli to secure their cooperation for establishing AI research and innovation hubs within the state," said a press release.
Emphasising the need to give top priority to collaborations between AI Singapore and Andhra Pradesh research institutions and universities, Naidu suggested introducing AI training programmes, exchange programmes and skill development modules for students of the state.

Discussions primarily centered on the application of AI in healthcare, agriculture, education, and public services. The CM and Kankanahalli discussed possibilities in technology promotion, deep tech, and AI innovation, the release added.
Besides, the Telugu Desam Party chief also sat down with NG Lin Wilin, SIA Engineering senior vice president to discuss the new airports in the state and requested collaboration for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) activities.
Naidu updated the SIA delegation about the industry-friendly policies introduced by the TDP-led NDA government and highlighted the vast opportunities in the aviation industry.
