Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to develop the proposed “Partners in Nation Building” programme into a statewide mass movement, with active participation from citizens in advancing the objectives of Viksit Bharat and Swarna Andhra by 2047.
Reviewing the design and implementation framework of the programme, Naidu said the initiative would be formally launched on August 15, marking the country’s 79th Independence Day and the beginning of its 80th year of Independence.
The Chief Minister stressed that the programme should go beyond being a government initiative and instead encourage every citizen to take an active role in nation building. He called for efforts to create greater awareness about individual responsibilities towards the country’s development and urged people to set personal and community-level goals aligned with the broader vision for 2047.
“The Partners in Nation Building programme should involve every citizen in nation building and create awareness about the responsibility of contributing to the country’s development,” Naidu said, according to a press release. He added that citizens should be encouraged to establish goals and contribute towards achieving the vision for 2047.
As part of the Independence Day initiative, Naidu directed officials to ensure that the national flag is hoisted at every household from August 13 to 15. He said the campaign should help strengthen the sentiment of “My Nation, Nation First” and ensure that the message reaches households across Andhra Pradesh.
The Chief Minister also placed particular emphasis on the role of young people and students in the programme. He called for initiatives that would encourage youth to participate actively in building the future of both Andhra Pradesh and the country.
Naidu suggested creating platforms at the village level to identify and nurture leadership in different fields. Such platforms, he said, could help young people develop leadership capabilities while also encouraging them to contribute to their communities.
He also called for the revival of the culture of voluntary service that, according to him, was once more prominent in villages. The Partners in Nation Building programme, he said, should provide a structured platform for citizens to participate in voluntary and community-oriented activities.
The Chief Minister stressed that the energy, ideas and capabilities of young people should be channelled towards productive nation-building activities. He also emphasised the need to change the perception of citizens as mere beneficiaries of government welfare programmes.
According to Naidu, people should increasingly become active stakeholders in shaping the future of the state by participating in development initiatives, community activities and efforts aimed at achieving long-term economic and social goals.

He directed officials to design programmes that encourage broad-based public participation rather than relying solely on government departments. The initiative should provide opportunities for citizens from different sections of society to contribute according to their skills, interests and capabilities.
Naidu further instructed officials to establish a mechanism for periodically assessing progress towards the 2047 objectives. Progress made under the various initiatives should be reviewed annually, with reports submitted on August 15 each year.
The Chief Minister said the programme should ultimately evolve into a sustained mass movement across Andhra Pradesh, with citizens actively participating in the state’s development and contributing to the larger national goal of building a developed India by 2047.
The initiative is therefore envisioned not merely as an Independence Day campaign but as a long-term effort to promote civic participation, voluntary service, youth leadership and shared responsibility in the development journey of Andhra Pradesh and the country.
