Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has said that national security flows from soldiers at the borders and the residents who dwell there.
Sinha was speaking at a public gathering during his visit to the Vibrant Village Sariah in Rajouri on Friday, where he inaugurated the Common Service Centre along with other developmental projects.
The projects include water conservation works and development of playgrounds in vibrant villages such as Sariah, Pukharni, Bhawani, Chapardhara and Namban. He also paid tributes to Brig. Mohammad Usman.
Sinha said development of the border villages is essential and integral to national security, and every border village must rank among the nation’s most prosperous.
Sinha noted that a nation is defined by its remotest villages, where our borders begin and our identity shines before the world.
Crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sinha said, “India is progressing well under his leadership and resolve. The border areas are no longer India’s edge but its first village with immense opportunity.”
“My vision is clear that border village development is integral to national security, and every border village must rank among the nation’s most prosperous,” he added.
He said since assuming responsibility for the Union Territory in August 2020, his priorities have remained focused on border villages and the aspirations of people living there.
During Friday’s event, Sinha called upon the officers deployed in remote and border villages to achieve 100 per cent saturation of HADP, Mission Youth, Mudra Yojana, and all welfare schemes, leaving no eligible citizen behind.
