Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday said that governments led by the NDA have acted firmly against recruitment scams and exam-related fraud. He alleged that opposition-ruled states have failed to effectively tackle such issues and have seen several irregularities in recruitment processes.
Speaking to reporters, Dhami said the Uttarakhand government launched a major crackdown on the "cheating mafia." He said more than 100 people were arrested and sent to jail, while a strict anti-cheating law was introduced to prevent future incidents.
Dhami said action was taken against those involved in cheating whenever such cases surfaced in NDA-ruled states. In Uttarakhand, he added, recruitment examinations were conducted and completed as per the official schedule without major disruptions.
The Chief Minister claimed that states such as Jharkhand and Punjab have faced recruitment-related controversies. He also referred to Uttar Pradesh under the previous Samajwadi Party government, alleging that several recruitment processes between 2012 and 2017 were affected by irregularities and cheating.
Criticising opposition parties, Dhami alleged that Congress, the Samajwadi Party, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and their allies were responsible for many of these recruitment-related problems. He said young people across the country are aware of these issues.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's approach, Dhami said the focus was on taking action against the main organisers of such scams rather than punishing young people who may have been influenced or misled into participating.
Commenting on the FIR registered against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, Independent MP Pappu Yadav and Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad over an alleged insult to Sanatan Dharma, Dhami strongly criticised the opposition leaders.
Speaking in Dehradun, the Chief Minister said insulting or defaming saints is unacceptable. He alleged that Pappu Yadav and his associates have repeatedly attempted to tarnish the image of Sanatan Dharma.
Dhami also targeted opposition leaders over their absence from the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony. He said they were invited to attend the historic event but chose not to participate.
According to him, their actions and statements reveal their attitude towards Sanatan Dharma and the saint community.
Highlighting the state government's public outreach efforts, Dhami said the 'Jan-Jan ki Sarkar' campaign aims to make government services more accessible, particularly for people living in remote and rural areas.
He said the initiative brings officials and government departments directly to the public so that issues can be resolved without people having to travel long distances.
The Chief Minister added that the campaign helps residents obtain important documents and certificates while also ensuring they receive benefits under various state and central government welfare schemes.
Sharing details of the programme, Dhami said more than 6.5 lakh people have participated in the two phases of the initiative so far. He added that over 60,000 grievances have been resolved on the spot during the outreach drives.
