As many as 18,000 people in the age group of 18–45 have died due to heart attacks or heart seizures in Haryana since 2020, a report tabled in the Legislative Assembly revealed on Wednesday.

The data was shared in a written reply to a question raised by a Congress MLA, who sought year-wise and district-wise details of deaths in the 18–45 age group due to heart attack/heart failure from 2020 to date.

The MLA also asked whether the state government had conducted any study or survey to ascertain if these deaths had any correlation with COVID-19 infections or vaccines, and if so, to make the findings public and detail actions taken.

The government confirmed that no such study or survey was conducted.
