The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has collected enough evidence about the identities of the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack, the release from the agency said.
The evidence collected accompanies the eyewitness accounts from victims, video footage, and technical evidence, along with the sketches issued by the Jammu and Kashmir police.
The agency said the collected evidence is being carefully evaluated, though no conclusions have been derived as of now. Identities and further specifics will be shared with people at an appropriate time.
Meanwhile, on Monday, the Jammu Court granted NIA a five-day remand of the two accused in connection with the terror attack. The two individuals arrested have been identified as Parvaiz Ahmad and Bashir Ahmed. The date for the next hearing is set for June 27, 2025.
Earlier on April 22, terrorists carried out one of the deadliest attacks on civilians in the Baisaran valley of Pahalgam. They gunned down 26 people, including 25 tourists, when they were enjoying their holidays with their loved ones.
The NIA said on Sunday that two men have been arrested for harbouring and assisting terrorists. Both of the accused are residents of Pahalgam and are thought to be closely linked to the terrorists who carried out the Pahalgam attack.
The two men, according to NIA, have confessed to helping terrorists and admitted that they were Pakistani nationals affiliated with the proscribed terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
“Parvaiz and Bashir had knowingly harboured the three armed terrorists at a seasonal dhok (hut) at Hill Park before the attack,” said the NIA, citing its investigations.
