The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday launched a series of raids across Rajouri and Reasi districts in Jammu and Kashmir as part of its ongoing probe into the deadly June terror attack on a bus carrying pilgrims returning from Shiv Khori temple.
NIA officials confirmed searches at seven locations, focusing on gathering more evidence related to the attack, which left nine dead and 41 injured.
The bus, targeted by terrorists on June 9, veered off the road and plunged into a gorge near Teryath village in Reasi after being fired upon.
Among the victims were a two-year-old boy from Rajasthan and a 14-year-old from Uttar Pradesh.
The Ministry of Home Affairs handed over the case to the NIA on June 17.
So far, one person, Hakam Khan of Rajouri, has been arrested for allegedly providing logistical support, food, and shelter to the attackers, along with conducting reconnaissance of the area.
Today’s raids are the latest in a series of searches, following similar operations in Rajouri on June 30, aimed at dismantling the support network for the attackers.
The NIA is continuing its investigation, and further details are awaited.
