The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday raided several locations in central and north Kashmir as part of a terror-related investigation, officials said.
The searches were conducted in Srinagar, Bandipora and Baramulla districts as the country’s premier counter-terror agency intensified efforts to dismantle terror networks.
The operation specifically targeted areas including Rafiabad, Sopore and Bomai in Baramulla district, as well as the Parimpora area of Srinagar city.
NIA teams were assisted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
According to officials, the raids are part of a wider crackdown aimed at disrupting terror financing and underground networks in the region.
Monday’s searches focused on both underground militant operatives and overground support structures currently active in Jammu and Kashmir.
The operation is part of the NIA’s broader, intensified campaign to curb anti-national activities and dismantle terror infrastructure across the Union Territory.
In its year-end press release, the NIA stated that it arrested a total of 276 individuals nationwide across various crime categories in 2025, with a substantial number linked to terror networks in Jammu and Kashmir.
Of these, 67 were classified as “jihadi cases”, which predominantly relate to operations in the J&K region.
While the NIA has targeted high-level conspiracies, the Jammu and Kashmir Police separately arrested more than 100 individuals in a valley-wide crackdown in November 2025 to prevent anti-national activities in the Union Territory.
