The forest department received an urgent call regarding the presence of the large reptile at the Nirmal Lifestyle Housing Society in Mulund.
Members of the Resqink Association for Wildlife Welfare (RAWW), in coordination with forest officials, swiftly conducted a rescue operation.
The female Indian Marsh crocodile was safely captured at around 6.30 am. Following a medical check-up, the crocodile was released back into its natural habitat.
"We ensured the safe return of the crocodile to its environment," said Pawar Sharma, founder of RAWW and honorary wildlife warden with the forest department.
