Nishad Chief: SP 'shielding' Moin Khan in Ayodhya rape case

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Sanjay Nishad said, “Akhilesh Yadav’s PDA (Pichhda, Dalit and Alpasankyakh) is a lie. Those who raise the slogans of PDA and feel proud that they won in Ayodhya, it seems that they have won with the help of these criminals."

Uttar Pradesh Minister and Nishad Party Chief Sanjay Nishad has condemned the Samajwadi Party (SP) for its silence on the rape of a minor girl in Ayodhya and accused the party of attempting to shield SP leader Moin Khan, the main accused in the case.

In a media statement on Saturday, Nishad criticised SP leader Akhilesh Yadav, asserting, “Akhilesh Yadav’s PDA (Pichhda, Dalit and Alpasankyakh) is a lie. Those who raise the slogans of PDA and feel proud that they won in Ayodhya seem to have won with the help of these criminals. They are protecting the criminal, neither expelling him from the party nor speaking out against him.”

Nishad, who also met the victim on Saturday, assured that the government is taking firm action against those responsible. “Today, I have raised this issue in the House and will stand by the victim until justice is served. I thank Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his prompt action in the case. I am committed to protecting my community,” he said.

Following his meeting with the victim, Nishad added, “The administration of our government is taking action against such criminals. I had gone to Ayodhya to meet her (victim). I cannot explain the agony she is going through.”

He further criticised the Samajwadi Party, stating, “The SP leaders are lobbying for these criminals. They remain silent on the case and none of their leaders have visited the victim. They have merely mentioned that a DNA test will be conducted. While the DNA test is a procedural step, why is the SP trying to protect the accused?”

In related developments, the Ayodhya district administration took action against Moin Khan by demolishing his illegally constructed bakery. Officials reported that Khan had seized pond land to build the bakery.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ashok Kumar confirmed, “The bakery was sealed after being identified as illegal, and demolition proceedings have begun.” The administration also dismantled an illegal boundary wall built around the pond.

Earlier, Khan and his house help were accused of raping and blackmailing a 12-year-old girl who worked as a daily wage employee at Khan’s residence. A case has been filed against Khan for allegedly threatening the victim’s family to settle the matter. Khan was arrested on Thursday for the ongoing sexual abuse of the girl over two months.
