NIT-Hamirpur inks pact with IIT-Bombay

As part of the agreement, up to five top-performing students from selected engineering streams at NIT-Hamirpur will spend their final year studying at IIT-Bombay, a statement released on Friday said.

The National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. This deal will give students access to advanced facilities, practical experience, and new research opportunities.

 

As part of the agreement, up to five top-performing students from selected engineering streams at NIT-Hamirpur will spend their final year studying at IIT-Bombay, a statement released on Friday said.

 

The agreement was signed on Thursday in the presence of NIT director H M Suryavanshi and IIT-Bombay Dean (International Relations) Sudarshan Kumar, the statement added.

 

Suryavanshi called the collaboration a major step forward for NIT-Hamirpur. “It will provide our students with world-class experience and prepare them for global competition,” he said.

 

Kumar said the partnership will strengthen academic exchanges and encourage innovation. "We welcome the students of NIT-Hamirpur to IIT-Bombay," he added.

 

Siddharth Sharma, Dean (Academics) at NIT-Hamirpur, said this initiative will expand students’ learning opportunities and let them experience a wider range of educational environments.
