The Supreme Court did not pronounce an interim bail relief order to Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Excise Policy case. The apex court said the matter will be likely taken up again on Thursday or nect week for hearing.
Hearing the arguments, the Supreme Court placed a condition before Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested in a money laundering case related to the Delhi excise policy, regarding granting him interim bail. The court said that if Kejriwal is granted interim bail, he cannot perform his official duties.
Meanwhile, a Delhi court on Tuesday extended the judicial custody of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a money-laundering case related to the alleged excise scam till May 20.
Special Judge for CBI and ED Kaveri Baweja extended Kejriwal's custody until May 20 after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader was produced before the court through a video conference on the expiry of his custody granted earlier.
The judge also extended the judicial custody of co-accused Chanpreet Singh till May 20.
