Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao ridiculed Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday. He said that if Reddy remained CM, Congress would not have voters for the next 15 years. In his interview, Rao stated, "The state of Congress in the state is such that if Revanth Reddy remains CM for five years, Congress would not have any voters for the next 15 years…"

Rao also responded to Reddy's remark regarding the naming of welfare programmes after Indira Gandhi. "He went on to comment that unless citizens are beaten, they will never understand the enormity of Indira Gandhi. I would like to ask Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, is it your 'mohabbat ki dukaan'?… Individuals of the state will not accept this kind of language and will take revenge at the appropriate time… " he further added.

Earlier, CM Reddy said that Indira Gandhi's welfare and development schemes have been illuminating the lives of the poor, so they were being named after her.

"The welfare and development schemes initiated by Indira Gandhi are illuminating the lives of the poor, and that's why we are naming our welfare schemes after Indira Gandhi.". In Hyderabad, to give a ₹5 meal to the poor and even give them breakfast, we have named canteens on the name of Indira Gandhi. These fools organised a protest against naming canteens in the name of Indira Gandhi. They won't realise the magnificence of Indira Gandhi unless they're stripped and thrashed, Reddy declared.

Earlier, on July 4, KT Rama Rao, launching a veiled attack on Rahul Gandhi, alleged that he had ignored Telangana's grievances in Parliament. Rama Rao alleged that Gandhi had remained silent on major promises during the 2014 Andhra Pradesh bifurcation, such as national status for an irrigation project and the commissioning of the Bayyaram steel plant.

Additionally, KTR also accepted the ‘challenge’ thrown at the party (BRS) leadership by Chief Minister Reddy at ‘Samvidhan celebration’ public meeting on Friday for a debate on the issues pertaining to river water allocation and injustices to Telangana.

“Revanth Reddy can decide the venue of his choice for the debate at Kondareddypalle, Chintamadaka, Kodangal, Gajwel, Assembly or Ambedkar statue in the next 72 hours. Else, he could come to Press Club at 11 am on July 8 as I (KTR) would be waiting there for the debate”, Rama Rao said addressing a press conference in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Former Telangana Chief Minister and BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao was discharged from Yashoda Hospital, Somajiguda, Hyderabad on Saturday morning, two days after being admitted for health-related complaints.
