It was a nightmarish experience for a Noida family for nearly 36 hours when they got stuck in their own house  after noticing a cobra inside their ceiling light. At first, they thought it was a wire, but when it started moving, it was no less than a horror for them.

The incident took place in D Block of Sector 51, where the Chaudhary family first noticed unusual movement in their kitchen ceiling light on September 9. On a closer look, they realised that a cobra had hidden inside the fixture. A video of the snake slithering around the light soon went viral on social media.

The cobra was in the kitchen, so the family locked themselves in rooms upstairs and relied on food deliveries from outside. The family confined themselves to the upper rooms of the house and avoided using the kitchen altogether. The family immediately contacted the forest department, which arrived with a snake catcher. The rescue team tried different methods and, after more than 36 hours, successfully extracted the cobra by using a special powder that forced it out of the false ceiling. As per the reports, a snake catcher and forest officials reached the site and the struggle continued for hours. Eventually, a powder was poured into the ceiling that prompted the snake to come out.

 

After 36 hours of stress and horror, finally on Wednesday evening, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Forest Department rescued the snake. A video of the cobra inside the light is going viral, and netizens are raising questions related to safety.A forest department official confirmed the details of the operation, saying, "We worked for over 36 hours before the snake came out. Once it was caught, it was taken to a safe location and released."The Chaudhary family, who had been living in fear since spotting the snake, finally breathed a sigh of relief once the rescue was complete.As per the reports, the snake was safely released in the Okhla Bird Sanctuary.
