Chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the meeting underscored a clear intent to turn the state into a self-reliant powerhouse, with the goal of achieving a "Samruddha Odisha" by 2036.

Odisha is now poised for a drastic change in its industrial scenario with the Clearance from the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) of the state for its seven big projects totaling ₹55,783 Crores. With the confluence of its chief minister, Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi, the meet made its point clear about the objective of making the state an autonomous power and becoming "Samruddha Odisha" by 2036. Beyond the staggering investment figures, the projects are projected to create over 14,500 jobs across several districts.

The steel industry continues to be the state's backbone, with Saffron Resources (a JSW Group company) leading the pack. Their ₹35,000 crore integrated steel plant in Dhenkanal is the crown jewel of this round of approvals, expected to produce 6 million tonnes annually and provide employment to roughly 8,000 people. Dhenkanal is clearly becoming a focal point for growth, as it will also host a new ₹1,300 crore air separation unit by Inox Air Products and a ₹2,136 crore thermal power expansion by GMR Kamalanga Energy.

Ganjam is also seeing a significant influx of capital. Jindal Poly Films has been cleared to set up a ₹12,000 crore Titanium Dioxide Pigment unit, a rare earth processing venture that could employ 4,000 people. Additionally, the district will see a nearly ₹1,700 crore investment in the auto-component sector for manufacturing tyres and zinc oxide. Meanwhile, the state’s tech ambitions received a boost in Khordha, where Sancode Semi is planning a ₹1,650 crore semiconductor assembly and testing facility— a move that places Odisha firmly on the map for high-tech manufacturing.

Chief Minister Majhi said that the approvals of these projects mean not only the investment that the state receives. The balanced development of the region and ensuring that the industrial growth happens across the state is what the approvals entail. Odisha is moving towards the vision of "Viksit Bharat" for the year 2047, and the investment that the state is making at various levels of technology marks the beginning of this new era.
