Baikuntha Pradhan, an assistant section officer at Puri Raj Bhavan, has been transferred to the Home Department following allegations of assault by Odisha Governor Raghubar Das’s son.
The official order confirmed Pradhan's reassignment, stating, "Pradhan, ASO, Parliamentary Affairs Department, at present deployed to the Governor’s Secretariat, is hereby transferred and posted as such to Home Department against the existing vacancy with immediate effect."
The transfer comes after Pradhan’s wife, Sayoj, claimed that he was physically assaulted by Das’s son and his associates on July 7 while at Raj Bhavan in Puri.
Pradhan, in a letter to the governor, detailed the alleged incident.
"I, Baikuntha Pradhan, Assistant Section Officer, Parliamentary Affairs Department, currently working on a deployment basis at Governor's Household, beg to state the following unfortunate and life-threatening incident done by Mr. Lalit Kumar, Son of Honourable Governor of Odisha and others (Total 6 persons) in the night of 07th July 2024 at Raj Bhavan, Puri," the letter read.
A complaint has been registered at the Sea Beach Police Station in Puri.
Despite the serious accusations, the Governor's office has remained silent.
