Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah should organise an all-party anti-terrorism rally at Lal Chowk to denounce the recent attacks and send a strong message that every person in the Union Territory (UT) stands united against terrorism, said the BJP’s Kashmir unit spokesperson on Thursday.

BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur said political differences can wait, but the fight against terror cannot. “We urge the Chief Minister to lead an all-party anti-terrorism rally at Lal Chowk, Srinagar. It’s time to move beyond condemnations and condolences,” Thakur said in a statement.

He said Jammu and Kashmir should send out a loud, united message that each individual in the UT stands against terrorism in all its forms and shapes. “Political differences can wait—the fight against terror cannot. Let all parties, communities and citizens walk shoulder to shoulder for peace and dignity in the Valley,” he said.

“Terror has no religion, no region and no place in our society. A united voice from Lal Chowk will echo across the nation and strengthen the fight for a terror-free J-K,” he said.

He made these remarks in the aftermath of the Delhi blast on November 10, which claimed 15 lives and injured 20, leaving the national capital in shock and chaos.

Omar Abdullah, political parties, religious clergy and social activists have denounced the explosion if it had any terror angle involving doctors or medical professionals from J&K.

While the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is probing all possible angles, they have refrained from making any claims, since the investigation was in advanced stages.
