Prominent political figures across Punjab's political spectrum have united to express unwavering support for the Indian Armed Forces following the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, a precision military strike targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Taking to social media, Punjab Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Bhagwant Mann stated, “The whole country is united in this fight against terrorism. We are proud of our Indian Army and our brave soldiers. 140 crore citizens are standing with the Indian Army. The people of Punjab stand with the country’s Army for the courage of the soldiers. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.”

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal lauded the operation, remarking, “The Shiromani Akali Dal salutes our brave Armed Forces for executing Operation Sindoor with precision and restraint. We stand with the Government of India for its decisive action against terrorism. Jai Hind!”

Punjab Congress Committee (PCC) president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring echoed the sentiment with a succinct message: “Our army is our pride, our glory. Jai Hind!”

BJP state president Sunil Kumar Jakhar praised the security forces. “Salute to the Indian Army! Jai Hind! India’s defence forces have once again struck hard against extremism, celebrating their bravery. Special thanks to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, who gave our forces an opportunity to select targets in a professional manner,” he said. Jakhar also called for a pause in the ongoing farmer protests, citing national security concerns.

Opposition leader Partap Singh Bajwa (Congress) quoted verses of Gurbani to honour the spirit of duty embodied by the Indian soldiers, adding, “Our soldiers serve the nation with this spirit, we are proud of them. Jai Hind!”

Independent MP from Faridkot Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa, now associated with Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De), expressed cautious support. “India is also ours, we are with India, but the policies of these governments are not right. Punjab should not be made a battlefield every time,” he noted.

SAD (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann took a critical stance, warning against escalation. “There should not be a war with Pakistan, as we are a neighbouring state. Any conflict would have a direct negative effect on the Sikh population in Punjab... We do not support war or attacks on Pakistan or China without the participation of the Sikhs.”

Despite a few voices of concern, the overall political response from Punjab sent a strong message of unity in the wake of the operation.
