In preparation for the upcoming assembly election in the state, Haryana's chief electoral officer, Pankaj Agarwal on Saturday, announced that there will be around 20, 629 polling stations. In the meantime, a tentative voter list has been out for errors to be reported by August 16.  

 

The Haryana assembly polls will be held later this year. 

 

On August 2, a preliminary voter list was issued at all the designated locations after the Election Commission’s voter list program. 

 

Agarwal held a meeting with representatives of all the recognised parties and urged all of them to review the voter list and to timely report all the errors, if any, by August 16. 

 

The discussion was held to review the second voter list, according to the official release. And, the first-level inspection of the electronic voting machine will be conducted by engineers of Bharat Electronics Limited in all 22 districts of the state. All the leaders from the political parties can be present during this process, confirmed Agarwal. 

 

Agarwal further informed that August 3, 4, 10, and 11 have been assigned for the preparation of the revised voter list. 

 

He further said that booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be present to assist people in the time of voting, and he also added, that the political parties must have their booth agents contact BLOs, on the dates above, for smooth processioning of things.

 

Agarwal further apprised that all the errors in the draft voter list will be resolved by August 26 and the final voter list of all 90 constituencies will be released on August 27. 

 

Every political party must have at least two copies of the voter list, one Hard copy and the second one is Soft copy. The draft voter list can be collected from the district election officer and registration officer.
