Over four kg of heroin were seized in separate operations along the India-Pakistan border in Amritsar and Ferozepur districts of Punjab, the Border Security Force (BSF) said on Saturday.
In an intelligence-based operation carried out on Friday, BSF troops, along with Punjab Police personnel, seized six packets of heroin weighing 3.248 kg from a field near Jalloke village in Ferozepur district.
The packets were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape, suggesting that they had been dropped by a drone, the BSF said.
In another incident, BSF personnel recovered a packet of heroin weighing 1.080 kg from an area near Mullakot village in Amritsar district.
In a third case, 570 grams of heroin were found in a field near Chaharpur village in Amritsar’s Ajnala area.
